The NSA has organized a list of security guidelines for multiple operating systems, however, it has started providing the vendors guidelines for newever versions of operating systems when they exist. If you are just interested in what the NSA published themselves, look at the guides for RHEL 5, Windows 2000, Mac OS 10.3 (Panther), and Solaris 8.

I just read this article on Firefox extensions that improve security, and my favorite has to be Trashmail that lets you generate temporary email addresses easily. I would definitely advise you not to use Tor unless you know how to avoid Tor’s potential security problem.
Here is a list of my favorite Firefox extensions (Add-ons):
- Adblock Plus
- BetterGmail (your gmail account may require BetterGmail 2)
- Download Statusbar (I’m not fond of its default display configuration, since the fonts are too small, but it is easy to change)
- Firebug
- Google Browser Sync
- It’s All Text!
- Keyconfig

You know longer need to use parallels, vmware, or crossover office to run Internet Explorer 6 easily on your Intel based Mac. It can also install IE 7 beta, but this ran horribly for me.
